If you are worried about the exterior condition of your vehicle which you plan to trade-in when purchasing a new car or truck; wait for a rainy day and then go in to buy.  I mean a RAINY day, sooo rainy that nobody would want to spend much time outside inspecting the vehicle for small dents or scratches, plus the water will help cover things up.
