Chris Sachs
10 year automotive industry veteran spills the beans about buying cars, fixing cars,
and other secrets within the car world.
Chris’ interest with cars started in high school auto shop, where he had the opportunity
to learn from the most amazing shop teacher ever, named Baz. During high school,
he got his first job as a porter in a Lexus dealership, washing the rich folk’s
cars which also including the great Walter Payton’s.
After graduation, Chris attended Universal Technical Institute in Glendale Heights,
IL were he achieved a Technical Degree in Automotive Technology with Honors. He
quickly realized that actually fixing cars was not his gig, rather being a liaison
from technician to customer was a better fit.
Chris spent 5 years working in the quick lube industry where he learned the ins
and outs of every car on the road, not to mention being able to tell you the air
filter part number for each one of them.
From the oil change world, Chris moved onto a luxury car dealership where his main
responsibility was customer relations management and process improvement. There,
he had the chance to change the world’s opinion about car dealerships by changing
the experiences of the consumer when buying or repairing their vehicles. During
his tenure at the dealership, Chris learned all about car sales and gained a more
in-depth understanding of the mentality behind the automotive industry.
The long and short of it is, Chris knows what pisses car owners off because the
same things piss him off. He has the ability to relay technical information from
a mechanic to a customer in not so technical terms. He knows how to sell you a car
but chooses not to. He thinks he’s good looking, but that’s his own opinion. Lastly,
he is willing to spill the beans about the smoke and mirrors behind the automotive
industry.
